What Does Your Spiritual Quest Look Like?

I have always been one of those people searching for the answers to the deeper questions whilst trying to figure out the whole meaning of life thing.

I felt like I had it all worked it out once - I had an epiphany. The meaning of life is to find and feel part of a community. How nice is it to have that feeling of belonging? But once I had that figured out, I continued to be haunted by the question; what is the purpose of my life? and I would come up with a different answer over and over again. Is there one final answer? What do you believe? Or do we continue to search for it our whole lives?

Particularity now, amidst the uncertainty of the Coronavirus and our unknown immediate future. The whole meaning of life is put into perspective.

Do you have your crystals on your nightstand or have read ‘The Power of Now’ by Eckhart Tolle a zillion times? What do you practice that is good for your spirit?

It feels like I have always been on a spiritual quest. I read spiritual books. I travel and take courses. I have quiet time. I listen to all the podcasts. It’s fun. Learning is fuel for me. Do you relate?

mindfulness

I am motivated to continue on my spiritual quest as I have had positive results so far. I am a calmer person, with better relationships, living more in the present than ever before and these are some of the things I do or have done that work for me…

  • morning yoga session - this sets me up for my day. Practising yoga slows my breathing and my morning anxiety over the gazillion things I have to do that day. I stretch and release all the tension in my body. Yoga helps with my posture, toning my body and my flexibility. I set an intention and am mindful whilst doing yoga and end in savasana.

  • meditation - this was initially extremely difficult for me. I could not stop my mind for even ten seconds. Which was exactly why I needed to start meditating. I have meditated for many years now and can testify that it truly has made a difference in my life and to my life.

  • say goodbye to all the energy suckers in my life - I didn’t realize it at the time but so many people, supposed ‘friends’ were taking advantage of my niceness. When I finally worked it out I stopped offering, I stopped taking on others problems as mine and I stopped saying yes; all of which was a difficult task for me. But when I realized I had to stop giving to others in order to be kind to myself, it all began to make sense.

  • began talking to and listening to my intuition - it started with journalling. Then really tuning within and discovered the great clarity my inner voice can bring! I first heard about this from Jess Lively and I was fortunate to attend her cschool (short for consciousness school) in Sydney in 2018. It was amazing, life-changing and so rewarding. Asking my intuition questions and writing has given me great insight into many different areas of my life.

  • attending the International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India in 2019. From here I discovered Mooji. He is this inspirational Jamaican spiritual teacher who has an amazing podcast as well as YouTube videos you can watch online. He has such a great message to share and presents it in everyday language that even I can understand.

  • crystals - yep i’ve got them all. I wear them, and display them and I recharge them under a full moon. I occasionally set intentions using my crystals of a morning, holding it close to my heart.

  • pull tarot cards - I love my Doreen Virtue angel cards. I pull for myself, pull for a message of the day, pull to answer a question, as well as pull for my family and friends. It’s fun and can give me clarification or guidance on which direction to take.

  • look for signs and synchronicities - depending upon how I feel, I may ask a question or I may ask for what I need to know. Then I look out for number plate signs or numbers that repeat. I may even ask the universe for a certain word or animal to be shown to me through the day. It sounds crazy but the universe never disappoints.

  • my spiritual path has helped me find my twin flame and I tune into Nailea Guerrero on YouTube every week to listen to her Sacred Union Reading which is 100% on track with my journey. If you believe your partner is your twin flame I highly suggest Nailea. She is amazing accurate.

  • talking therapy - to heal childhood wounds and to do my shadow work. As well as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to decrease my anxiety and the unrealistic stories my mind/ego tries to convince are the truth.

  • burn incense and sage - lots. Not just because it smells good, but cleanses the air and the room I have it burning in.

  • gratitude journal - this has been a game changer. Writing a list of things I am thankful for each morning really helps set me up for the day. It can be as simple as changing your mindset and seeing the goodness in the small things.

  • became kinder to myself - I now treat myself with more compassion, and my own self love has increased my self worth.

  • travelled to places such as India, Bali, Peru, Northern Territory, where the spiritual energy is high and magnetic field is strong. Uluru and Kata Tjuta, Stonehenge, Pyramids of Egypt, Mayan monuments in Mexico, Maccu Picchu, is where I have felt the effects - it was during these times overseas that the real inner work and discoveries was done. They have been very powerful moments for me.
