October 2022 In Hindsight

October was a busy month for us. It started off with the long weekend. Any opportunities like that are usually spent on house renovations, so this time, we tackled (okay my bf tackled) the bathroom. It is a great feeling walking into the bathroom now. All fresh and white. For the second week of the school holidays, I packed my bags and headed south, picking up my sister on the way. We stayed at the Old Schoolhouse at Milton. Despite the rain, it was just what the doctor ordered. It was a great mix of country and the ocean. Milton is in a beautiful location and has the most gorgeous homeware shops. We ate at Gwylo at Mollymook and had some of the best food ever. So lucky. Since then our weekends have been busy getting out and about. My bf tagged along on my adventures and never complained. He is starting to get used to it now and says he has earnt some brownie points.

What's new -

* Home improvements - bathroom vanity we bought had a fault so had to be fixed. That took a while, plus a leak coming from the wall. All fixed now. Vanity hung. Bought a new mirror for the bathroom but had black trim, so spray painted it white. The shower curtain rail got hung. A root from next door tree was making its way up through the garden and was pushing the fence out of alignment so my bf had to dig the root out. We then put new plants in the garden and fixed it all up. finishing off the garden edge with wooden poles. Bought a vanity and bowl for upstairs but it didn’t look that good so returned it and got our money back. Now on the hunt to find a new one. Bought new stools for the kitchen. Booked council clean up

* still enjoying my new job and my preschool observations. Work is sort of starting to slow down; instead of fifteen emails a day it has reduced to about five. It is such a nice break and allows me to get my job done

* tried to do a poetry challenge and wrote a poem each day this month but only lasted first five days

* my family put on a surprise garden tea party for my mums 70th birthday with her closest girlfriends. It was a lovely morning and we managed to keep it a surprise from her which was the best

* seeing love hearts and the word bloom/blossoms again

* bought a ticket in the $140 million Powerball. Didnt win but a guy from Penrith did

Started -

* visualising my dream home in hope that it is all going to happen sooner rather than later

Attempting to -

* create a succulent garden out in the front garden. Been collecting free succulents from Marketplace and my collection is gradually growing
