May 2021 In Hindsight

I had a hectic start to May with preparations for my boyfriends birthday. We were in lockdown last year so I wanted to make it extra special this year. We also had his mums birthday dinner and Mothers Day. Alongside that, we had a cousins baby’s Christening, and my sister came up to visit from Wollongong a couple of times. My dad hasn’t been well this month which is unnerving but hopefully, everything will be alright for him. My mums family property was finally sold after many years of deliberation which brought up lots of memories. We also had our first fire of the year last week as we have begun to have chiller nights as we get closer to Winter. I got sick with a bad cold to end the month out and took my first sick day off school for the year. So it’s been pretty busy with lots going on.

* Home improvements - cleared the back driveway and put up a wire for the passionfruit vine to grow along. Looks so much better looking out the back door now to the backyard. Organised for three exterior house walls to be rendered - guys did an amazing job. Currently getting quotes to get the outside painted. Bought a shower grate for the ensuite. Weeded gardens, and laid the weed mat, now just to buy woodchip to put in the front and back gardens. Moved the herb garden to around the back. My boyfriend bought a new electric chainsaw which is suburbia noise friendly and prepared all the woodpile for winter. I even had a turn of using it. Washed all the windows and doors and fly screens

* Planning to go away to WA for my 40th birthday at the end of the year. Just started making plans now

* my dad was in the hospital for three days due to a blood clot in his leg and lungs, then a week later had more time in there for gall stones
