December 2023 In Hindsight
I had a great end to the year. Work was unusually quiet for the last couple of weeks of the term. It was so nice to have time to catch up on everything. Moving into my own place was a good call. It made for a great place to hide on the 40 degree days and the quiet. I am loving the quiet. I am doing substantially more driving but so far so good. We survived Christmas and made it through. I have never been a fan of Christmas and just glad to get it over with for another year. My bf even bought me a gift this year which was really special. First time for everything hey! Then ending the year in Perth, with fireworks by the Swan River with friends. So good.
Listened to -
* Real, Raw, Relatable Podcast with Kat John - always relatable
* The School of Greatness with Lewis Howes - its a good one but he does repeat his stories so I skip through parts
* The Tiffany Han Show - listened to the episode with Elise Cripe and her decision to remove herself and her life from social media and close her business down
Read -
* A Home Like Ours by Fiona Lowe - four women’s lives intertwine. Super thick book but well worth the time
* Colonials Son by Peter Watts - good read
* Lost Angel by Kitty Neale - nice one
* Educated by Tara Westover - so good. Loved it. Very well written
Splurged on -

Went to -
* My bffs work Christmas Party - dinner and a stay in Hotel overnight was included. Great night.

* Christmas Eve lunch with my family at my sisters place
* Christmas Day late lunch at my bfs mums place - didn’t hang around very long as a storm was incoming
* Perth with my sister to surprise one of our good friends home from WA. Spent 8 days with her and her family and had the best time. Will be going back for sure
Booked -
* cricket tickets for January
Cooked -
* lemon meringue pies, mars bar slice, quinoa salad, mushroom quiche, potato and leek bake
What's new -
* Home improvements - booked another council clean up so the dining table and chairs went, lounge, blinds, and bits and pieces sitting around. It always feels good to clear stuff out but as soon as its collected I seem to gather more and already have a pile of things to go for another clean up. We cleared out everything upstairs so its almost ready for the carpet. The timber flooring was finally completed. It only took the guy five weeks but we got there in the end. It looks so good though. We have a guy coming to sand and polish it in early January.
* Updates on my blog - nothing much again this month
* won movie tickets for latest Woody Allen movie - not sure when I will see it though
Looking for -
* new tops
Sold -
* wooden cabinet, laundry pedestal, two mosaic plant stands
Started -
* listing things to sell again on Marketplace
Attempting to -
* walk more steps each day
