December 2022 In Hindsight
So that's it. December is done and that’s a wrap for the year 2022. It was a busy one for me as my job was advertised going for a permanent position, so that meant many late nights and weekends writing my application. Thankfully I had my mentor to help me. Then I got the call to say I got to interview, so I had plenty of prep, note writing and reviewing for that. Then waiting for the call…. And, good news (I think) I got the job! I am officially the Transition Support Teacher - Early Intervention. I accepted it with mixed emotions as I went for it without expecting to get it and then when I got it, it scared me to think I am back fixed, locked in, stuck. It’s not what I imagine for my life, yet it is a great job, so for now, it will do until I am ready to move on again.
I took the last three days off and went away with my bf on one of his jobs up to the border of NSW and Queensland to a place called Mungindi. On the way back home, we stayed at Gunnedah Hotel, an art deco hotel, which was really cool. It was a nice way to wind down the year before Christmas.
I have never been much of a Christmas fan but this year was fairly low key and we just went with the flow, so it wasn’t too bad. We had Christmas Eve lunch with my family, Christmas breakfast at home and then Christmas lunch with my bfs family. In between, we started clearing the house out ready for the makeover and work to begin, which is always my favourite way to spend a day. We then spent 6 days up at Lake Macquarie, staying at BULC Boutique Bed and Breakfast, a beautiful place just up from the Yacht Club. We felt pretty lucky. It had the best sunset view and was so comfortable.
