What To Pack For The Perfect Picnic
As lockdown restrictions ease, the enticement of picnics is getting everyone good. Double vaxed is the way to go.
To pull off a good picnic though it does take a bit of organisation. You need to consider things like a good venue, the weather, food options… But its worth it.
What You Need To Pack
Picnic rug - gorgeous one’s available from Wandering Folk
Cushions to sit on or otherwise low chairs - Big W have good options
Picnic basket which includes plastic dinner wear, cutlery and cups - BCF has a few options depending upon your style
Serving boards, cheese knife
Serviettes/napkins - IKEA have a tonne of cute styles
Food - suggestions below
Drink - keep chilled in a cooler bag. Kollab have sweet cooler bags
Ice packs - to keep food or drink cold. I reuse the ones I get in my Marley Spoon food box delivery
Plastic bag for any rubbish
Games - Uno, Monopoly Deal, Jenga
Sunscreen, hats
Sport equipment - soccer ball, frisbee, cricket set
Bluetooth speaker - to share some tunes
What To Pack Food Wise
Your food choices will really depend upon the time of the day you are eating, the season and whose in charge of food. Do you provide everything or will everyone chip in and bring something along.

Grazing platter - pretzels, chocolate, strawberries, cheese, wafers
Fruit platter
Paninis - great picnic food
Pick up takeaway fish and chips
Fresh bread, cream cheese, salmon, dill
High tea style - scones, cream and jam, lamingtons, cucumber sandwiches, lemon and poppy seed muffins

I can’t go past a good picnic by the water. The sand at the beach is a turn off for me and the wind. Picnic is the back yard is an option but we have been stuck at home long enough. Time to get out again…
