Where To Find The Best Food In The World
So I have raked up 82 countries under my belt, so it is fair to say I have had my share of food around the world. I have plenty of stories related to food that one day I might get a chance to tell you about but for today, I wanted to offer my tips on where to find the best food in the world. I realise our taste buds are all different but if you would like to take my advice… whilst travelling I have been fortunate to eat some of the tastiest food and drinks in the world.
These ones are the most memorable. The ones you will never forget. I am sure I will need to edit and add to this list as I continue to travel or reminisce about past trips.
Germany has some of the most amazing fresh vegetarian meals, in the world, particularly in Berlin. You will not be disappointed.
Bangkok in Thailand has amazing fresh meals cooked on the street at such a cheap and reasonable price.
You won’t be disappointed by anything in India. The meals are so tasty and flavoursome. At times the food can be a bit chilli and hot so make sure to ask for ‘not spicy’. They are very generous with their portion size also and all at the right price.
I found the best baba ghanoush in Egypt. Irresistible dip. I could eat it every day, with every meal and not just as an entrée. So good.
If you are looking for a delicious drink, try the Lassi from the Blue Lassi Shop in Varanasi.
Feeling run down? Honey, lemon, and ginger tea in India is the best for a sore throat or to give you an energy boost.
For amazing dumplings check out the Goobok Mandu Restaurant in Seoul, South Korea. Be prepared to wait. They don’t take reservations so there is always a queue but so worth the wait. There are four kinds of dumplings to try and are made fresh every day. Delicious!
Pastel de nata’s are the popular custard tarts in Portugal. Don’t be surprised if you become addicted. Buy them from Lisbon at Pasteis de Belem, they make them from the original custard tart recipe. My mouth waters just thinking of them.
They make the best lemon and mint juice in Oman. Great to drink and so refreshing in the heat.
When I lived in Morocco, I became obsessed with the fresh bread and pastries that you can buy warm just out of the oven. So soft, scrumptious. I had to hold back and put restrictions on myself. I am not lying when I tell you they are so good.
And if you want something sweet you have to go to Belgium. Famous for its delicious chocolate and waffles. They are really generous with the chocolate spread. One is more than enough!
